Being an agile leader means creating an organizational culture that is centered on agility and innovation. Leadership is about leading with an example, motivating others, and fostering a culture of trust. Agile leaders have a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.

Being an agile leader is an art and a science. It means that you have to be able to balance both sides of the equation: art and science. Art is understanding your people and science is understanding how to build systems and structures to support your people. The agile leader is the one who is able to walk the line between art and science. You have to be able to give people what they need to support their growth and be able to see the bigger picture.

What’s the difference between an agile leader and a traditional leader?

Traditional leaders are the typical figures seen in most organizations. They have been around for a long time, and they have a lot of power. These leaders have the ability to control budgets, personnel, and everything else. In contrast, an agile leader is someone who is not afraid to make changes in the face of adversity. Traditional management loves processes. They develop repeatable, documented processes for absolutely everything. While agile leaders have a willingness to experiment with new ideas and test them out until they find something that works. They have a sense of urgency, and they are always looking for ways to improve.
